Oakland rapper Yukmouth has just released a statement denying that former Death Row Records CEO Marion “Suge” Knight led a group of men who attacked him Monday evening in California. According to first reports, Yukmouth originally identified Knight as one of 11 men who accosted him the parking lot of a San Fernando Valley supermarket and robbed him of $92,000 worth of jewelry. Yukmouth allegedly identified Knight as one of his attackers to police, but quickly recanted the story. The rapper told the web site VladTV.com that he is refused to cooperate with police, will not press charges and denied Knight was involved with the assault. Instead, he placed the blame on the Los Angeles Police Department and claimed that officers have a vendetta against the controversial Knight. LA police have been after Suge Knight for years and are lying about me to try to get him. If Suge was caught jaywalking they would lock him up,” Yukmouth said. “I never filed a police report and I never pressed any charges. Me and Suge have always been cool – I wouldn’t have had a meeting with him if I thought there was some sort of problem.” According to Yukmouth, other people in the parking lot watched the group of men assault him and called the police and filed reports. “The LA police have been calling me trying to have me come in and cooperate, but it’s not happening,” Yukmouth said.
